Welcome to TrackMyAssets!
Adding your first asset is quick and easy. Follow these steps to get started:
Step 1: Navigate to Add Asset
Click on "Add Asset" in the sidebar menu or use the "+" button in the Assets page.
Step 2: Enter Asset Details
Fill in the following information:
- Name: Give your asset a descriptive name (e.g., "HP Laptop - Marketing Dept")
- Category: Select or create a category (e.g., "Electronics", "Furniture")
- Serial Number: Enter the manufacturer's serial number if available
- Purchase Info: Add purchase date, price, and vendor details
- Location: Specify where the asset is located
Step 3: Generate or Assign Barcode
Choose whether to generate a new barcode or use an existing one. Our system supports both QR codes and Code 128 barcodes.
Step 4: Save Your Asset
Click "Create Asset" and you're done! Your asset is now tracked in the system.
Next Steps
Once you've created your first asset, you can:
- Print barcode labels
- Scan assets with your mobile device
- Generate reports
- Track depreciation
